The story behind our name

A brand new school year calls for a fresh new name!  

Welcome to Roots of Learning! 

We have loved being Muskoka Educational Therapy but wanted a name that reflects the broader scope of who we are, and what we offer.  We continue to support our learners in developing the “roots of learning”.  These roots are the foundation that help students to grow into lifelong learners.  A tree is strong and fruitful when it has strong, deep roots.   Roots are like the neuropathways in our brain.  We can strengthen them, and create new ones as we nurture the seeds of perception, emotions, cognition, primitive reflexes and academics.  Working to develop these areas can have a significant impact of a students’ ability to learn.   

We primarily offer Educational Therapy, but we also offer Blomberg Rhythmic Movement Training.  In the near future, we look forward to offering additional services which will provide even more diverse interventions to help all learners.   

Location, location, location! 

We are no longer exclusively serving the Muskoka area, but are excited to cover the Parry Sound community as well.  We also offer our services online!  We have international students, as well as Canadian students.
