Meet Heidi

Heidi Willows is a determined educator and strong advocate for independent learning. She enjoys hikes, camping and canoeing with her husband, family and German Shepherd. Meeting with people one on one and connecting over a cup of coffee is one of her favourite ways to spend time. Heidi spent over 7 years as an Intervenor for the deaf and blind, encouraging students to gain independence and advocate for themselves by “doing with, not for” both in the school board and in private practice. Heidi values education and desires to help students who are feeling discouraged and defeated due to a lack of focus on “process” over “product”. With experience working with students in tutoring and a variety of classroom settings including a variety of different needs, Heidi is excited to make a difference in students’ lives with the Roots of Learning team.
